The name comes from Duffel, a town in Flanders, Belgium, where the thick durable cloth used to make the bag originated in the 17th century.
The Duffle Bag acquired considerable cool-status in the surfer subcultures of post-WWII California and Australia. Ex-Navy boys brought it with them to the beach and then the world over.
Today the duffle flows well with our more casual and at ease life style and is used for all modes of travel.
Duffles come in many colors and sizes. Shop and explore our TAnthony Classic Duffle collection.
